Learn to Speed Skate - Presented by the Pettit National Ice Center.
Spring Session Starts March 20th - Registration Now Open
Learn to Speed Skate prepares skaters to experience the joy and exhilaration of skating fast on the ice. Each class will contain exercises and skill-based games that build physical literacy, self-confidence, and a strong technical foundation. The following fundamentals will be the primary focus: basic position, weight transfer, alignment, balance, edge control, arm swing, timing and the basic speed skating stride. These technical elements will be broken down and taught in a progression to allow skaters the opportunity to achieve mastery at multiple points along the way. Certified Instructors from the Pettit Center will be on the ice for this program. Speed Skates can be rented from the Mullett Center.
